Using my printed fabric I am going to create a pillow and lampshade. I have choose to create these house hold item as it portrays my print in a interior setting and that is how I will be displaying my exhibition. Overall my cushion has been very successful, I have used a zip fastening, this demonstrates technique and quality within the making of the cushion.
Step 1 - Measure your fabric to fit your cushion leaving 1'' extra for the hem.
Step 2- Pin the zip to the edge of your material, then sew along the zip edge with a zipper foot.
Step 3 - Sew the ends of the zip up.
Step 4 - Open your zip and pin and turn your fabric so that the correct sides are facing each other
Step 5 - Pin the edges of your fabric all the way round
Step 6 - Sew all the way round of the cushion leaving 1'' hem
Step 7 - Turn your cushion the correct way poking all the corners out carefully
Step 8 - Iron your Cushion cover
Step 9 - Carefully put your cushion through your zip hole
Step 10 - Zip your cushion up and your complete
